Boxpool turns an argument in your group chat into a real market. Post the question, everyone takes a side with actual money, and the odds come from what your friends bet — not a stranger's order book.
Try it — the odds move as money goes in, because the odds are the money. Demo only, nothing is charged.
Write it, set when it closes, and say how it gets decided. Drop the link in the chat. Nobody installs an app.
Each person stakes what they want. The odds shift as money lands, so they always show what the group actually believes right now.
When the answer is in, the contract splits the pot among whoever was right. No commissioner, no chasing, no IOUs at Christmas.
Prediction markets already exist, and they're good at exactly one thing: questions thousands of strangers care about. Elections. Fed decisions. The Super Bowl.
Nobody is making a market on whether Dave moves out. Post that to a global exchange and you'll sit alone with an empty order book forever, because the only nine people on earth who care are already in your group chat.
Boxpool flips it. Those nine are the market. The pot is whatever you all put in, the odds are whatever the split happens to be, and it works at nine people — which is precisely where an order book stops working.
One question, two sides, one answer. The default.
"Does she say yes?"More than two outcomes. The pot splits among everyone who called it.
"Who gets fired first?"Everyone guesses a figure. Nearest without going over takes it.
"Final score?"The classic grid. Numbers drawn when the board locks, winner paid automatically.
"Super Bowl, 25 boxes"You choose up front: a price feed or sports score for anything public, or a named person in the group for anything that isn't. Their call is locked in before betting opens.
Free to start a market. The protocol takes nothing out of the pot — the winners split all of it.
Pots are funded and paid in it, and listing a market publicly costs a small amount so the feed can't be flooded with spam.
Everyone gets refunded when it closes. A one-sided market has nothing to pay out, so it doesn't pretend otherwise.
It's a private pool among people who know each other, which is what a squares board has always been. Rules differ where you live, and that part is on you.
The market contract and the settlement path, in testing with a few groups. No token issued, no public launch. This page is the pitch, not the product.
Early markets are free, and we build with the groups running them.
